2025 Year in Review: Growth, Learnings, and What's Next
Reflecting on a fantastic first year since going live, the positive feedback from teams, and our plans to reach even more clubs in 2026.
2025 Year in Review: Growth, Learnings, and What’s Next
As we approach the end of 2025, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what’s been an incredible year for Clubshub and Fine Tracker. Since going live with our beta in June 2025, with our alpha testers supporting us throughout 2024, we’ve been thrilled to see the positive reception from clubs and teams using the platform.
Strong Adoption and Positive Feedback
We’ve seen fantastic adoption since launch, and the feedback from teams has been overwhelmingly positive. Club managers and fine administrators are telling us they love the simplicity of the system, and players are enjoying the convenience it brings.
One piece of feedback we hear time and again: being able to pay fines directly from your phone is a game-changer. No more chasing people for cash at training, no more awkward conversations about outstanding payments. Players can simply open the app, see what they owe, and pay it there and then.
Direct debits have also been a huge win. For clubs that have set them up, it’s ensuring teams actually get the money they’re owed from fines. No more “I’ll pay you next week” that stretches into months. The automated nature of direct debits means payments happen reliably, improving cash flow and reducing the administrative burden on whoever runs the pool.
GoCardless: The Right Technical Decision
From a technical standpoint, we’re glad we chose GoCardless as our payment partner. Since integrating their platform, we’ve experienced no technical issues. The API has been straightforward to work with, webhooks arrive reliably, and payment statuses sync seamlessly back to Clubshub.
This kind of reliability is crucial for a payments integration. When money is involved, you need confidence that everything works as expected, and GoCardless has delivered exactly that. It’s allowed us to focus on building features for clubs rather than troubleshooting payment infrastructure.
Looking Ahead: Changes on the Horizon
While we’re pleased with the progress so far, we’re also realistic. To reach more teams and increase adoption, we know we’re going to need to make some changes. We’re currently in the planning phase, and we hope to share more details by April.
Some of the areas we’re looking at include:
- Simplification: Streamlining certain areas of the platform to make onboarding and day-to-day use even easier
- Pricing Model: Reviewing our pricing structure to ensure it works for clubs of all sizes
- Technical Decisions: Behind-the-scenes improvements that will help us scale and deliver new features faster
We’ll share more specifics once our plans are firmed up, but we’re excited about the direction we’re heading.
Thank You
We’ve had a great year. From our early alpha testers in 2024 who helped shape the product, to every club that’s come on board since June, thank you. We’re thrilled that people are enjoying Clubshub and finding genuine value in what we’ve built.
Our goal for 2026 is simple: get more clubs their time back and simplify their admin. Running a players pool or managing club finances shouldn’t eat into your evenings and weekends. We want to make that a reality for as many teams as possible.
Here’s to an even better year ahead.
